I know how you feel we have two disabled boys and it is very hard to get the kind of help you need. My boys miss out on a lot because the angencies eat up all the funds for our kids, I think the government should give the families the funds for our disabled kids. I think I posted this as a reponse so sorry if you read this twice.  I'm a mother of 3 great kids, two of whom (twins) have disablities.  My twins both are in wheelchairs, althought one can walk for short distances with a walker.  I had to stop working full time as an RN due to all the surgeries (14 combined), and doctors appointment ect.  My husband is a fireman and works odd jobs on his days off to try and make ends meet.  We are in debt due to our situation, but I'm not asking for assitance for that.  The hardest thing for me is the inability to give my children a chance to do things that other kids do.  We need a wheelchair accessible van that will hold two wheelchairs (full size van with a lift), and they cost 50 -60 thousand dollars.  There is no way we can afford to buy that.  I just want to be able to take my kids th the zoo or shopping ect.  Right now they are stuck at home except for going to school or the doctor.  If anyone can help I would be eternally grateful.

I need an affordable home that in which I can raise my 5 year old daughter who has severe developmental delays, due to her premature birth. My daughter uses a wheelchair and is on oxygen 24 hours a day.

need assistance with items that secure a 7 year old that has austiam/mental retardation. I am a single grandmother who is unable to work and cannot provide all her special needs. We need to secure our home with safety feathers as I cannot afford to put a fence around our property.  She has no sense of danger.  Sometimes I have a hard time providing things that she could use considering her disabilities.

I lost my job in June, and 2 days later my husband came down with a horrible staph infection that caused him to miss 5 weeks work.  Our rent went from $430 (subsidized) to over $800 that month.  His car blew the radiator and water pump, and we are driving an old Suburban that is sucking down gas at over $100 a week!  We cannot pay our rent and we have 4 children that start school in 3 weeks.  My oldest child is autistic and change is very difficult for him.  He needs constant supervision or you don't know what he will do.  My husband finally went back to work, and insurance covered a lot of his illness, but co-pays for doctor visits and medications have killed our budget.  His last paycheck was less than the rent we owe!

 I am looking to find any grants or funds available to assist with the move of the Metro Deaf School in St. Paul, MN.  The move will be next sumer, to a bigger facility, with enrollment increases and the new school is 5 miles from the existing school.

We are looking to cover/reduce the cost of such a large move so that there will be more money in the budget for important academic needs of the students.
